I bought a pair of Lowa boots for my hike up Mt Washington and allowed enough time to break them in. However, 3 weeks before my trip I experienced unusual pain that was directly attributed to the boots (turned out to be too narrow) so I returned them to REI and asked for a pair that I could break in over a 2 week period; a pair that was wide enough for my feet. They sold me the Vasque Breeze (wide width) and I couldn't be happier. After a brief break in I wore them 4 hours up and 4.5 hours down the mountain and my feet were never an issue.
